Lisa’s Story

My name is Lisa. I’m 17 years old and live in the West Midlands. I was diagnosed with the condition Turner Syndrome when I was born; I had swollen hands and swollen feet. The doctors did tests and found out that I had Turners. When I was 4 years old I was fitted with my first set of hearing aids. I was put on growth hormone from the age of nine, which my parents would inject into my leg every night to help me grow. I was fifteen when I stopped the growth hormone. I exceeded my height prediction, I was told I would be 4ft 11 but I’m 5ft 1! TS has never stopped me from doing anything. I do however wish it was more widely known.
