Management in Adulthood

When you reach the ages of 16-18 you are transitioned/moved into the adult clinics to continue your reviews by endocrinologist specialists and a gynaecologist specialist for your fertility queries. The appointments have their own set of monitoring which either follows on or is added these include:

  • Referral to adult clinicans
  • Referral to cardiology
  • Referral to gp
  • Referral to gynaecology
  • General counselling
  • Follow on growth hormone assessment once finished of height, weight bmi and blood pressure
  • Thyroid function
  • Thyroid antibodies
  • Glucose testing
  • Fasting Insulin testing
  • Lipid levels
  • Liver function
  • Renal function
  • Bone densitometry
  • Pelvic ultrasound
  • Abdominal ultrasound
  • Echocardiogram

to complete these they include the following:

  • Weight and BMI every visit
  • Thyroid function in the form of bloods yearly
  • Renal function in the form of bloods and/or ultrasound yearly
  • Liver function in the form of bloods yeraly
  • Lipid profile in the form of bloods yearly
  • Oral glucose tolerance test 5 yeraly
  • Thyroid and coeliacs antibodies in the for of bloods 5 yearly
  • Quality of life as required
  • Hormone replacement review every visit
  • Blood pressure every visit
  • Echocardiogram 3-5 yearly
  • MRI pre pregnancy
  • Cardiology referral as required
  • Hearing deficit awareness with each visit
  • Ongoing review of ENT problems with each visit
  • Hearing aid as required
  • Hearing test 5 yearly
  • Fertility plans with each visit
  • sexual function with each visit
  • Uterus ultrasound pre pregnancy
  • Fracture history with each visit
  • Bone density in the form of a scan 5 yearly
  • Workplace history with each visit
  • Relationships review with each visit
  • Mood history with each visit
  • Clinical psychological referral as required
